DeWayne Alston

CEO, Host of In The Studio and Soul Sessions

DeWayne Alston, a Baltimore native, is a poet, writer, and of course, a music lover. He is the founder and co-host of Soul City Radio.

He is a published writer with two poetry compilations currently on the market. He also writes a technology column for RazorsEdge Magazine. The idea that he might someday become a radio personality began during his days at University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He tried to get a job at the campus radio station, but wasn't allowed to since he wasn't a communications major.

Fast forward to November 2008, when he was introduced to Blogtalkradio. A few months later, Soul City was born and a dream came to fruition. Soul City strives to make a connection with listeners through feel-good music, encompassing everything from rock to rap.

"I've always had a love for music. I can expressly remember my mother listening to her favorite Temptations album, Live from the Apollo, over and over again. I don't think I can remember a time when music wasn't a part of my life ... whether it was my father and my uncles playing the classics, or even my oldest brother, who played a lot of rock Õn roll. Music is embedded in my DNA."

Nat Burnz
Host of The Free Your Mind Experience
Nat Burnz  is probably the dopest emcee that you've never heard of, and up until this point, he wouldn't have preferred it any other way. Born and raised in Hempstead, New York, Nat is like that dude from the hood, with the sweet jump shot and crazy hops, that everybody says should be in the NBA, but instead he simply plays for the love of the game. When he wants to. Where he wants to. And, more importantly, how he wants to.

Formally known as Big Chuck, Nat Burnz, is actually a certified veteran that some would even go so far as to call an underground legend. He first debuted, along side Kazy D, on the Seattle-based rapper's "A Letter From Tha Grave" album, in 1995. The song was entitled "Ashes 2 Ashes", and it was produced by certified platinum award-winning producer,Kevin Gardner ((i.e. E-40 "In A Major Way - 1995), . In support of this project, Nat was able to rub shoulders and share stages with West Coast rap verterans such as Master P, JT The Bigga Figga, San Quinn, Coug Nutz (R.I.P), Gangsta Dre, Funk Daddy etc.

Upon his return to New York, Nat Burnz began making his name known on mixtapes and in various performance venues and open-mics in and around the city. However, it wouldn't be long before he noticed that he was becoming more and more disinterested in the stagnant, corrupt and self-destructive climate of the Hip Hop industry. He then decided to take a self-imposed hiatus, where he focused soley on the "finer things in life" - his family and his community. The reason he has decided to return is, not only because he still has a deep passion for his "first love" (Hip Hop), but also because he feels that the industry is in desperate need of a consistant and relevant voice of leadership, that is still "dope", yet not "compromised" or "corney".

Nat Burnz has recently formed FREE YOUR MIND ENTERTAINMENT,  and he is now ready to finally unleash his full-length debut, entitled ESCAPING THE GENERATIONAL CURSE. This project, pulls no punches and serves as Nat's testement to not only entertain, but to also inform. Just so you know, REAL HIP HOP (WITH A MESSAGE) IS BACK!!
